About the illustration :
I created this illustration during one of the loneliest and isolating nights of COVID lockdown. The flow of making it helped me get through the anxiety and unease of the unknown and served as a reminder of all the ways I can create an enriching inner-world in between the dread and dissociation of the outside one.
This illustration was part of a COVID chronicles series that was exhibited as a part of a group show in Portland, Oregon. It remains a favorite and is one of only two from the series that I’ve selected for print reproduction because it captured a universally shared state that we collectively went through of sitting with one-self in our separate bubbles and hanging on to the the little lucky pleasures many of us were lucky to still have. I hope by owning you are owning a piece of pivotal history and a reminder of our human resilience and struggle.
